Screen Recorder Gold is a program that allows you to record your desktop activity and create video tutorials, guides, etc.
The application allows you to record the entire screen, any its part, and a window. The recorded activity will be saved as AVI video file. Also you will be able to record audio, and add it to your recordings, as well as text and cursor effects.
To be honest, after testing several programs of the kind, I found this application a little bit confusing. If compare to other tested apps, the effects of the Screen Recorder Gold are not numerous, the program interface is not user-friendly enough.
The program allows you to author your video by adding the 'Created by ...' text, set its position on the screen, adjust its style, and change color, as well as change background, shadow, and outline color; that is all about text effects. There is no possibility to annotate your recordings, add images to them and various video effects. But, the program allows you to highlight cursor and mouse clicks, as well as play sound effects on keystrokes and clicks.
Still, Screen Recorder Gold has its own advantage, the built-in Flash video builder that allows you to convert the recordings to FLV format, and publish them on the web.
